Islamic University expelled a former Chhatra League activist and two others for torturing a fresher of the human resource management department.
The university administration suspended three other students for one year for their involvement in torturing the fresher.
The expulsion order was issued by the university’s disciplinary committee, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam.
The incident occurred on July 11 and September 3, when the students bullied a fresher.
The university formed a five-member probe body to investigate the matter.
