Metropolis Desk-
Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister and president of the Awami League, urged her people to exercise caution today to prevent the BNP from sabotaging the approaching national election.
She made these remarks at a large rally hosted by AL Dhaka North City at the Civil Aviation Field in the Kawla neighborhood of the capital city. “At any cost, the election will be held on time in the country, and people will cast their votes freely,” she declared.
“They [BNP] are well aware that votes for ‘boat’ will be cast in the event of an election,” the woman stated. AL will gain control. The nation’s development will proceed at a faster pace. For this reason, the BNP seeks to thwart the election and deny citizens the ability to vote.”
Referring to the BNP’s uncertainty over whether to run in the upcoming election, the AL chairman said, “It makes sense. Who is their leader, and will they run for office? Who is going to be the prime minister there? Is that the money-stealing orphanage embezzler or the dishonest fleeing criminal?”
She said that the BNP is attempting to thwart the upcoming general election for this reason. “I will request all of you to remain vigilant so they cannot do that.”
Hasina claimed that the BNP, who are robbers, thieves, murderers, and plunderers, would just destroy the nation if they came to power.
She urged her compatriots to support the ruling party in the upcoming election, saying that “only the symbol ‘boat’ can pull the country ahead.”
The prime minister declared that she would only be in office if the public voted in favor of “boat.” “But I will continue my work for the welfare of the people,” she said.
Speaking at the event were AL presidium members Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaque, Shajahan Khan, and Jahangir Kabir Nanak; Joint Secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud; Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam; Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan; and DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam. AL General Secretary and Minister of Road, Transport, and Bridges Obaidul Quader also spoke.
The event was moderated by General Secretary SM Mannan Kochi, who was seated alongside AL Dhaka North City President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman.
The demonstration was rescheduled because of bad weather. It was originally planned for October 7, the day of the soft inauguration of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s Third Terminal.
