Metropolis Report-
During the first day of the 36-hour blockade called by the BNP and its allies, arsonists set fire to another bus in Gulistan, Dhaka, this afternoon.
Around 12:15 p.m., unknown individuals set fire to the bus beneath the Mayor Hanif Flyover. Around 12:35 p.m., two fire engines put out the fire, according to Anwarul Islam, the media cell’s warehouse inspector for the fire service.
He said there were no casualties reported.
This morning at around ten in the morning, arsonists set fire to a Bahon Paribahan bus that was parked close to Gulistan’s underground market.
Since the BNP’s Nayapaltan rally was called off on October 28 due to a fight between party members and police, arson attacks have been in the news.
To protest the date of the upcoming national election, the BNP and its allies have called for nationwide hartals and blockade operations.
