A military official announced early on Wednesday that Israeli security forces had begun an operation in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Health Ministry also reported two fatalities in Jenin.
Army spokesman Avichay Adraee stated in a joint statement on Telegram with Israel’s Shin Bet security service, “Security forces have now launched an operation to thwart terrorism in Jenin and Tulkarm.”
Two males, ages 25 and 39, were killed in Jenin by Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Two days prior, Israel claimed to have conducted an airstrike on the West Bank, which the Palestinian Authority stated resulted in the deaths of five persons. This operation takes place.
Almost 640 Palestinians have been murdered by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank since Hamas’s October 7 offensive, according to an AFP count based on information from the Palestinian health ministry. The violence in the region has increased in tandem with the conflict in Gaza.
Over that same period, Israeli officials claim that at least 19 Israelis had died as a result of Palestinian attacks.
