Job seekers have staged a demonstration in Shahbagh, calling for an international norm of 35 years old as the minimum age to apply for jobs.
On Saturday, at 11 a.m., the demonstration got underway in front of the National Museum in the capital. Attending the event are job seekers from across the nation.
A local news source reports that Mahmudur Rahman Manna, the convener of Nagorik Oikya, spoke during the event.
Chanting slogans like ‘Age is not merit-merit-merit’, ‘No more time-lapse-now give the notification’, and ‘Break the chain of 35, break the chain, demolish it’ were employed by the demonstrators throughout the event.
