The Israeli attack on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, claimed the life of a Bangladeshi immigrant.
According to the Bangladeshi Embassy in Beirut, Israel launched an attack in the Hazmieh neighborhood on Saturday night.
We identified Mohammed Nizam, age 31, as the victim from Bangladesh. The Israel-Lebanon conflict has claimed the life of a Bangladeshi immigrant for the first time.
An Israeli airstrike in Hazmieh instantly killed Nizam around 3:30 p.m. local time. On his way to work, he had stopped at a coffee shop.
Nizam was from Kharera in the Kasba Upazila of Brahmanbaria. His parents were Mohammed Abdul Quddus and Mst. Anowara Begum.
Bangladesh’s ambassador to Lebanon, Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan, said he was deeply shocked by the death of “remittance soldier” Nizam and prayed for his soul.
