Due to heavy fog, a man was killed and numerous others were hurt in a series of multi-vehicle collisions on the Dhaka-Mawa highway in Srinagar, Munshiganj, early today.
Camellia Sarker, a doctor at Srinagar Health Complex, confirmed the death of Forhad, 40.
According to Camellia, Forhad was taken to the hospital dead.
Abdul Quader Jilani, officer-in-charge (OC) of the Hasara Highway Police Station, stated that the accident occurred in the Shologhar area at approximately 6:00 am.
The OC reported that a truck in the Mawa-bound lane struck a private vehicle from behind, initiating a series of collisions. Soon after, a bus struck the private vehicle as well, and then a microbus struck the rear of the truck. Later, a number of passenger buses collided with the bus in front, making the situation worse.
Dewa Azad, a station officer with the Srinagar Fire Service, reported that the accident injured ten to fifteen people. He also stated that we will provide more details about the incident once we gather more information.
It’s still unknown what kind of car Forhad was in when the collision occurred.
