A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight that had departed from Rome and received a bomb threat has landed safely in Dhaka.
The flight touched down at 9:20 am on Wednesday, with all 250 passengers and 13 crew members disembarking without incident.
“We received a call from an unknown number claiming there was a bomb on Biman’s flight from Rome. We then followed the necessary protocols and took the required actions,” said Group Captain Muhammed Kamrul Islam, Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
“The plane landed at 9:20 am, and all passengers and crew safely arrived at the terminal. We are continuing to follow protocol in case there is any remaining threat,” he added.
Bosra Islam, General Manager of Biman’s Public Relations wing, confirmed the “threat” on the Rome flight, stating, “We took all necessary actions.”
“However, the flight landed at 9:20 am without any problems. The passengers and crew are all safe. It seems to have been a hoax,” she concluded.
