A fire broke out at the Gabtoli Shahi Mosque Slum, situated opposite the Gabtoli Bus Terminal in Dhaka, early Thursday morning. The blaze was brought under control at 4:36 am, approximately an hour and a half after it started.
According to Fire Service spokesman Anwarul Islam, they were alerted to the fire at 3:08 am. The first firefighting unit arrived at the scene within four minutes. By around 4:30 am, eight firefighting units from Kalyanpur, Mohammadpur, Mirpur, and Tejgaon Fire Stations were engaged in extinguishing the flames.
The Shahi Mosque Slum is located across the road from European University, with several bus garages and motor parts shops in its vicinity.
