The National Citizen Party (NCP) has suspended its Joint Member Secretary, Gazi Salauddin Tanvir, and served him a show-cause notice regarding his potential expulsion from the party.
A letter, signed by NCP Joint Member Secretary Sifat, was issued on Monday and posted on the party’s Facebook page, detailing the decision.
The letter references a report published on March 11 by a newspaper, which alleges that Gazi Salauddin Tanvir unlawfully intervened in the appointment of a deputy commissioner and was involved in taking commissions from individuals connected to the printing of National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) books.
Tanvir has been instructed to respond in writing to the NCP’s central disciplinary committee within seven days.
The letter also stated that the order was issued by NCP Convener Md Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhter Hossen, and the suspension will remain in effect until a further decision is made.
