Stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) edged higher in early trading today, ending a six-session losing streak.
As of 10:56 am, the DSEX — the main index of the country’s top stock market — added 4.17 points, or 0.08 percent, to reach 5,049.02.
The Shariah-compliant DSES index climbed 0.09 percent to 1,127.61, while the DS30, which tracks blue-chip stocks, was up 0.16 percent to 1,866.45.
Market turnover, a crucial measure of trading activity, reached Tk 79.41 crore during the session.
Out of 395 traded stocks, 167 advanced, 124 declined, and 82 remained unchanged.
Alif Industries led the gainers with an 8 percent increase, while Beach Hatchery saw the biggest drop, falling 7 percent.
