Hot favorite Brazil’s Hexa Mission stopped in the quarter-finals. Croatia showed a surprise in the first quarter-final of the FIFA World Cup.
The last World cup runners-up, Croatia, beat Brazil in a tiebreaker on Friday to book their place in the semi-finals. The 120 minutes of the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The end of the game was full of drama. Neymar Jr led Brazil with a splendid goal in the last minute of the first half of extra time.
However, Bruno Petkovic scored an outstanding goal to equalize Croatia with three minutes remaining.
But once again, the hero of Croatia is Dominik Livakovic. The goalkeeper, who had been a formidable guard for Croatia throughout the match, showed his last glimpse in the tiebreaker. He blocked Brazil’s first shot.
Marquinhos missed another shot at the end. The Croats won 4-2 with one shot to spare.
