Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogura, bagged the Digital Bangladesh Award 2022 in the “General-Government (Best Institution)” category at the district level.
The award was handed over to RDA Director General (Additional Secretary) Khalil Ahmed in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Digital Bangladesh Day event at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Monday.
Md Mizanur Rahman, the Director of the Agriculture Department of the Rural Development Academy, confirmed the matter.
Junaid Ahmed Palak, the Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology, presided over the event. Prizes were also given to the winners of the online quiz competition.
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, AKM Rahmatullah MP, and the Senior Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Department, NM Ziaul Alam, were also present there.
On the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the creation of Digital Bangladesh, the theme song of “Digital Bangladesh Day–2022” and an audio-visual documentary on Digital Bangladesh were presented at the event.
Earlier, on December 12, 2008, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced the creation of Digital Bangladesh as the cornerstone of “Vision 2021”. Given this, based on the four pillars—nationwide information technology infrastructure construction, information technology-based human resource development (digital capability development), export-oriented development of the ICT industry, and people-friendly use of information technology (e-governance)—the Department of Information and Communication Technology has been working to establish a transparent, responsible and accountable government as well as build a happy and prosperous Sonar Bangla (Golden Bengal) through the use of information technology and to implement multifaceted activities to take government services to the doorstep of the people with the participation of both public and private sectors.
As part of this, the Digital Bangladesh Award is given to provide recognition, inspiration, encouragement and motivation to the work.
