The group of Buet students visiting the DB office today to learn more about the death of their classmate Fardin Noor Parash claimed that detectives were unable to present any convincing evidence in support of their assertion that he killed himself.
The students argued that it was unclear whether Fardin truly committed suicide, and DB officials lacked any such conclusive or tangible proof. They claimed that the DB authorities had stated that they were not absolutely certain that Fardin had committed suicide.
After leaving the DB office, they spoke with the media. Despite this, one of the students observed, “the evidence presented appeared relevant to us; they have put in a lot of effort.” They asserted that there were gaps in the evidence, nevertheless.
The students gave the example of how the human hauler driver who left Fardin off near a bridge on the night he disappeared claimed there was someone else with the Buet student.
They said that, besides these gaps, the investigating officer had provided them with hard proof regarding other matters. They expressed their satisfaction with the police’s efforts.
After the Buet students’ visit, the head of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) also spoke with reporters.
“I have presented the Buet students with proof of Fardin’s suicide. They were quite content,” said the official. Bushra, a friend of Fardin’s, has no connection to the incident and will inform the court of this, he added.
