To receive the New Year and say goodbye to the old one, the fireworks festival was seen in different parts of the country, including the capital, on Saturday (December 31) evening.
As the evening progressed, it increased. Preparations for the Thirty First Night and the New Year were going on on the roofs. At exactly 12, midnight Dhaka grew bright with fireworks and lanterns.
The beginning of fireworks is said to be originated in China. There is evidence of the Chinese using fireworks on various occasions. Gradually, it began to take place in various festivals.
People in China began to believe that fireworks could drive away evil spirits and bring luck and happiness. Based on that idea, the practice of fireworks started in the world.
