Lionel Messi immortalized himself by bringing Argentina the World Cup after 36 years. Apart from capturing various World Cup records, Messi also entered an elite club. Messi became the ninth player to win the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, and Ballon d’Or.
Brazilian legend Ricardo Kaka entered this ‘Triple Crown’ club long ago. He welcomed Messi to this club. Posting a graphic photo on his Instagram story, Kaka captioned it, “Welcome to this club, Leo Messi.”
Before Messi, Bobby Charlton, Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Muller, Paolo Rossi, Zinedine Zidane, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, and Kaka got their places in this elite club.
However, Messi tops the list in terms of one thing. No other footballer than Beckenbauer has won two Ballon d’Ors, while Messi has won 7.
