The minimum temperature in the country fell to 8.5 degrees Celsius. This temperature was recorded at Sreemangal in Sylhet yesterday.
The temperature in the Sylhet region has been below 10 degrees Celsius for three days. A mild cold wave is blowing in this region and some other districts.
Temperatures may drop further across the country this week. The country is slowly moving towards a moderate cold wave.
According to the Met office sources, if the temperature of a region falls below 10 degrees Celsius, then it is considered that there is a cold wave in that region.
If the temperature is between 8 degrees Celsius, it is considered a mild cold wave, 6-8 degrees is considered moderate, and below 6 is considered a severe cold wave.
