BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas have been released on bail in a case filed at Paltan police station in the capital.
They were released from Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj on Monday.
Earlier in the afternoon, the bail order given by the High Court reached the CMM Court in Dhaka. After that, their lawyer submitted the bail application.
A four-member bench headed by Chief Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui upheld the High Court’s order granting them six-month bail.
At the same time, the High Court has been asked to settle the ruling on the bail question within the next 30 days.
