Ode to The Majestic Kanchenjunga
The beauty mother earth has to offer is unthinkable. It’s nothing less than a bottomless bowl, from where one can take as much as he/she wants. The majestic Kanchenjunga is nothing but a prime example of that. Situated at the border region of Nepal and Sikkim of India, it stands proud as the third-highest peak in the world. The city of Darjeeling offers to explore the beauty of her majesty Kanchenjunga from different points. Being a mountain lover, I couldn’t resist capturing some of her beauty.
The beauty of Kanchenjunga can not be expressed in simple words. Its shades are different at different times of the day. In broad daylight, it glitters as the white knight of the north. The snow-covered mountain with layers of alpine trees is a combination of blue, white, and green. The fog-like cloud looks as if trying to cover her majesty like a lady. The photograph was taken from a random road in Darjeeling. The mountain is so high that it’s clearly visible even miles away.
The mountain takes another beautiful shade during the dawn. To be specific, at sunrise. Darjeeling offers this beautiful scene in the photo as the sun shines its golden rays from the east. Tiger Hill is the name of the place where people thirsty for beauty can quench the golden shades of Kanchenjunga. At the very top of Tiger Hill, as the sun rises, her majesty looks as if it’s melting gold. The rays of the sun are her majesty’s precious jewel, only to be worn during the dawn and never again.
On a cloudy day, her majesty is almost unseen from some points of the city. One can never manage to find her with naked eyes. However, the queen of the mountains plays hide and seek with the clouds, and a digital lens powerful enough could finally capture her during the game. I was lucky enough to manage just that. This photo was also taken from a random road in Darjeeling.
The beauty of Kanchenjunga is unparallel to anything. Sadly, no lens can capture her actual majestic beauty. As a photographer by passion, I only managed to capture a portion of her beauty, but the actual image still lies in my brain. Hopefully, there’ll be a chance to meet her again.
All the photos were taken with Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra phone.
