A fire that started on Friday morning in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram only left one survivor out of a family of six.
Khokan Boshak, a CNG autorickshaw driver, was saved by firefighters, but the rest of his family died tragic deaths, according to Rangunia Fire Station.
According to the police, the deceased were Khokan’s father, Kangal Boshak, 68, mother Lolita Boshak, 57, wife Rakhi Dey, 33, son Sowrabh Boshak, 12, and four-year-old daughter Shayanti Boshak.
To retrieve the dead, police had to cut the window grill of one of the bedrooms.
The fire in the tin-shed house most likely started in the kitchen oven. The family was unable to escape because the fire had devoured the only entry to the house, which was located next to the kitchen, Locals claimed.
Fire service sources stated that they learned of the situation at about 2:10 am. Around 4:00 am, five firefighter units, police officers, and locals worked together to put out the fire.
