‘Mayar Jonjal’ (Debris of Desire), a joint production between Bangladesh and India, has received acclaim and awards from numerous international festivals. The movie will finally be released in Bangladesh and India next month.
Indranil Roychowdhury, an Indian director, and Bangladeshi producer Josim Ahmed are behind the film, which sees renowned actor Aupee Karim return to the big screen after a 15-year absence.
Ritwick Chakraborty, a well-known Indian actor, Shohel Mondal, Chandreyee Ghosh, and Bratya Basu are also included in the project.
Based on two short stories by Manik Bandopadhyay, the film was officially selected for screening at Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF). Its premiere took place at the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival.
