Taqseem A. Khan, the managing director of Dhaka Wasa, was allegedly the owner of 14 apartments in the US, according to a recent Bangladeshi news article, which Dhaka Wasa has called baseless and fabricated.
“The report is scornfully dismissed by Dhaka Wasa. The news was intentionally disseminated and has no basis in reality,” read a press release from Dhaka Wasa bearing the signature of Mostafa Tareque, the organization’s deputy chief public relations officer.
According to the press release, Taqsem does not own any of the homes that were mentioned in the news article. His wife, who has been employed in the US as a federal employee, only has one apartment.
According to the press release, “a vested interest group issued this bogus and spurious claim to satisfy their own entrenched interests.”
