At least 30 shops were gutted in a fire at Chowmuhani Bazar in Noakhali’s Begumganj upazila early Wednesday.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit at a shop and soon engulfed the adjacent shops, said an official of Noakhali Fire Service Station.
On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze with the help of locals after two hours of efforts, said the official.
