In the opening super-six encounter of the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup on Saturday, Group D runners-up and hosts South Africa will face Bangladesh, the unbeaten group A champions.

The day’s other super six match, between Group D champions India and Group A runners-up Australia, will take place at the Absa Puk Oval in Potchefstroom, South Africa, at the same time as the crucial super six encounters between the two sides.

Bangladesh only needed to defeat the South African hosts to guarantee a spot in the semifinals, while the Proteas side from South Africa will play Bangladesh in a game they absolutely must win to have any chance of making the semifinals.

On Wednesday, January 25, at the Absa Puk Oval in Potchefstroom, Bangladesh will play United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the final super six games.

Earlier, Bangladesh secured the Group A championship with an undefeated record, earning all six points from three straight games, including victories over the USA by five wickets, Sri Lanka by ten runs, and Australia by seven wickets.

With four points from three games, the hosts South Africa placed second in Group D and advanced to the Super Six stage after defeating Scotland by 44 runs, the United Arab Emirates by 45 runs, and India by seven wickets.
