A mobile court sentenced a man to six months in prison for illegal topsoil removal from cropland in Bogura Sadar upazila on Friday.
They also seized excavator used for extracting the soil from the spot, said Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Firoza Parvin.
The UNO conducted the operation at Bamdighi village in Erulia union of Sadar upazila on Friday morning.
Convict Noor Alam, son of late Solim Uddin, of the same village, has been asked to cut soil from another land and fill the hole within 15 days.
