The poor people in Sri Lanka are in the most difficulty with food not being available and the price being very high. They can’t send their children to school in the midst of it.
Last month, 36 percent of Sri Lankan families did not have regular food, reports DW.
Last June, UNICEF reported that 56,000 children in Sri Lanka are suffering from malnutrition. Children cannot go to school, as it is impossible to study on an empty stomach.
A former secretary of Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Education said that children would go to school if they got food.
They will not go to school on an empty stomach in the schools where poor children study.
