Metropolis Report-
Leaders and supporters of the BNP flocked to the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters to participate in the protest march that began this afternoon.
The protest event, which is a part of the concurrent movements of the BNP and other like-minded political parties, started at 2:00 pm with hundreds of party members.
The protest march is being planned in opposition to what the BNP has dubbed ‘democracy killing day’ and to force home the party’s 10-point demand, which includes conducting the national elections under a nonpartisan interim administration.
Party members marched in small groups from different wards to the gathering, wearing bright hats, carrying banners and placards, and yelling anti-government slogans as they called for Khaleda Zia’s release.
There were numerous law enforcement officers stationed at the rally location and nearby.
