This year, pilgrims from Bangladesh would need to pay a minimum of Tk 6.83 lakh (about 2.21 lakh more than last year) to do the hajj under official supervision.
The minimum cost for pilgrims under private hajj administration will be 6.57 lakh Bangladeshi Taka, or about 2 lakh more than in 2022. Each pilgrim will also need to pay extra money for the Qurbani rite in addition to this expense.
This was said following a meeting of the executive committee on hajj administration at the secretariat, according to State Minister for Religious Affairs Faridul Haque Khan.
Tomorrow at a press conference in a major hotel, the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (Haab), a platform of private hajj travel operators, will formally unveil its hajj package price.
A deal with Saudi Arabia states that 1.27 lakh Bangladeshis will do the hajj this year. A total of 57,585 Bangladeshis did the hajj earlier in 2022. Approximately 1.27 lakh Bangladeshis were permitted to conduct the hajj in 2019.
