This morning in the Bhatara neighborhood of Dhaka, a fire caused by a gas cylinder leak claimed the lives of a couple.
Abdul Majid Sikder, 72, and his wife Taslima Akter, 47, were identified as the deceased.
The incident occurred at about 6:15 in the morning in the Saidnagar area of the capital, said police.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defense, the couple was found dead from burn injuries on the second floor of the six-story building after the fire started.
A gas cylinder leak was the cause of the fire. The fire was put out before two firefighting units arrived there, they added.
