Cricketer Al-Amin Hossain was charged by the police on Thursday for torturing his wife, Ishrat Jahan, and demanding a dowry.
The charge sheet was delivered to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in Dhaka by Inspector Md Sohel Rana of Mirpur Model Police Station, who was also the investigative officer in the case.
The charges levied against the cricketer were primarily proven, according to the charge sheet.
The Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-8 will now handle the case, ordered the court.
