Journalists formed a human chain protesting police harassment of Mujtaba Danish, news editor of Somoy TV, and Ratan Sarkar, Rangpur bureau chief of Somoy TV, in the name of Digital Security Act (DSA).
Bogura Zila Press Club organised the human chain with Hasibur Rahman Bilu, northern bureau chief of Independent Television, in the chair at Satmatha of the town on Monday morning. Jumman Sadiq Javelin (Somoy TV), literary and cultural secretary of the press club, conducted the programme.
Senior Journalist Md Mizanur Rahman Himadri, Majedur Rahman (Ekhon TV), vice-president of Bogura Zila Press Club, its Office Secretary Atiq Rahman Atiq (Mohana TV), Finance Secretary Asaf-ud-Daula Neon (Dainik Joyjugantor), Publicity and Publication Secretary Masum Hossain (Daily Bangladesh and The Metropolis), Sports Secretary Shahjahan Ali Babu (Ekttar TV), executive members Joseph Hossain Protik (Independent TV), Hedayetul Islam Babu (Ekhon TV) and video journalist Rabiul Islam Robi, among others, were present.
The speakers at the rally demanded the repeal of the Digital Security Act.
