Amid much controversy over plagiarism, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has withdrawn two textbooks for Classes Six and Seven.
The history and social science textbook “Onushiloni Path” for classes six and seven, as well as the science textbook “Onusandhani Path” for classes seven, have been withdrawn, according to a notification released by NCTB on February 10.
Some chapters of the books will be revised, and educational institutions will soon be advised of the modifications, according to the notification.
Some chapters in the two books caused controversy when it was discovered that they had copied material from a website after the new curriculum was introduced. In response to the allegation, the Ministry of Education established two committees.
