Khaled Mahmud Sujon, the head coach of the Khulna Tigers, and three other players were penalized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for violating the code of conduct during their individual Bangladesh Premier League matches (BPL).

The three players who were penalized were Comilla Victorians all-rounder Mosaddrk Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, and Nicholas Pooran of the Rangpur Riders.

The Level 1 violation occurred during Mahmud’s team’s T20 encounter against Fortune Barishal on February 10 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS), and he was fined 30% of his match earnings.

He was spotted smoking in the changing area, and the image quickly went viral on social media.

Mahmud’s disciplinary record now includes two demerit points in addition to the fine. The accusation was leveled by the on-field umpires Ali Arman Rajon and Ravindra Wimalasari, the third umpire Muhammad Kamruzzaman, and the fourth official Mahfuzur Rahman Litu.

Mahmud agreed to the punishment that Match Referee Debabrata Paul suggested; hence a formal hearing was not required.

Mahedi was fined 25% of his match fees after being found guilty of the infringement, which is defined as the misuse of cricket equipment, on February 12 versus Fortune Barishal at the SBNCS. His disciplinary record was also updated with one demerit point.

Meanwhile, Pooran was fined 50% of the match fee for violating the BCB’s dress code in the same match. His record also received two demerit points.

The accusations were made by the on-field umpires Prageeth Rambukwella and Ali Arman Rajon, the third umpire Tanvir Ahmed, and the fourth official Mahfuzur Rahman Litu.

The players acknowledged their misconduct and agreed to the punishment that Match Referee Akhtar Ahmad had suggested.

Mosaddek received a fine equal to 25% of his match fees. He received one penalty point for violating the logo policy during the first qualifier on February 12 versus Sylhet Strikers at the SBNCS.

The accusation was made by the on-field umpires David Millns and Raveeendra Wimalasiri, the third umpire Muhammad Kamruzzaman, and the fourth official Muzahid Swapan.

There was no need for a formal hearing because the player did not object to the punishment Match Referee Neeyamur Rashid suggested.
