Bangla Academy filed a petition asking for a stay of the High Court’s decision to grant Adarsha Prakashani a stall at the Ekushey Book Fair under the condition that it not sell or display three particular books.
This appeal was made by Bangla Academy to the Appellate Division Chamber Judge’s Court on Monday.
The legitimacy of the Bangla Academy’s decision to deny the publishing house a stall at the Amar Ekushey Boi Mela 2023 was earlier the subject of a writ filed in the High Court.
The writ petition was submitted on February 2 by Md Mahabubur Rahman, the publisher of Adarsha Prakashani.
On the condition that it not sell or display three particular books, the High Court ordered the authorities concerned to allot Adarsha a stall at the Ekushey Book Fair on Wednesday.
