Metropolis Report-
Around 10:00 p.m. yesterday, a team from Detective Branch (DB) arrested Adam Tamizi Haque, Chairman of the Haque Group, and brought him to the head office on Minto Road in the capital for questioning.
According to DB Chief Harun Or Rashid, he is the subject of a case brought under the Digital Security Act. In addition, he is accused of burning a Bangladeshi passport on Facebook Live.
He said that Tamizi Haque would be taken to a rehabilitation facility and questioned afterward if it was determined that he was mentally unstable. If he was in a stable mental state at the time, he would face legal action. UNB reports that earlier on November 16, RAB broke into Adam Tamizi Haque’s home on Road 111 in Gulshan.
Tamizi Haque allegedly threatened to commit suicide if he was taken into custody, according to Rab.
After criticizing the party, the government, and a state minister on Facebook Live, Tamizi Haque was decidedly kicked out of the Awami League on September 18.
