Metropolis Report-
September will see the partial opening of the 19.73km Dhaka Elevated Expressway to traffic.
The 11-kilometer stretch from the airport to Tejgaon will be officially opened by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The project, which runs along the Dhaka-Chattogram route between Shahjalal International Airport and Kutubkhali, intends to lessen traffic in Dhaka.
The 19.73 km highway is being built in three parts, with the first phase’s completion rate at 97.28%, the second phase’s at 54.22 percent, and the third phase’s at 5.37 percent as of June.
To reduce city congestion, the project is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) venture.
