“The government is committed to free and fair elections. We will not bow down to external pressure on the country’s democratic process and elections. Internal conspiracies and foreign interference in elections will not be allowed.”
On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, Law Minister Anisul Haque, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, and State Minister of Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam said these things.
In the seminar titled ‘Bangladesh Context: Promotion and Protection of Human Rights’ at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital, Chief Guest Law Minister Anisul Haque said that the protection of human rights is at the center of the government’s priorities. The government has taken many initiatives to achieve this goal. The government has given shelter to the Rohingya because it values human rights.
The law minister said that the government is committed to organizing free and fair elections to protect the rights of the people.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said that foreign interference and internal conspiracies will not be allowed in the upcoming national elections. The government is committed to protecting the right to vote, human rights, justice, and freedom of expression. He said, “Awami League believes in fair elections. We are also committed to protecting the right to vote.”
