A local Awami League leader was killed and his son injured in road accident in Bogura’s Shahjahanpur upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Khalilur Rahman, office secretary of Bogura Sadar upazila AL.
His son Momet was admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, said Sadar upazila AL president Abu Sufian Shafiq.
Police said a truck hit Khalilur and his son riding motorbike on Dhaka-Bogura highway in Shahjahanpur upazila, leaving the AL leader dead on the spot and his son injured.
The trucker managed to flee the scene immediately after the accident, said police.
