In the 2018 national polls, which were conducted in select constituencies, the sons of three sitting Awami League members were chosen to compete in the upcoming 12th parliamentary election.
The three individuals are: Rashek Rahman, son of AL treasurer HN Ashiqur Rahman; Mahbubur Rahman, son of party presidium member Mosharraf Hossain; and Muhammad Solaiman Selim, son of city AL adviser Haji Selim.
For their constituencies, they will be running for office rather than their dads.
While Mahbubur Rahman was selected for Chattogram-1 and Rashek for Rangpur -5, Solaiman Selim was nominated for Dhaka -7.
Today at the party’s Bangabandhu Avenue office, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader gave a press conference where they revealed their identity.
