To support a United Nations-backed mission tasked with re-establishing order amid gang-induced chaos, a second contingent of 75 Guatemalan soldiers arrived in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince on Saturday, according to the mission.
A day earlier, an additional 75 soldiers arrived, bringing the total number of Guatemalan troops to 150. According to a statement from the Guatemalan government, all of the reinforcements are from the military police unit.
On Friday, eight more El Salvadorian soldiers arrived.
