Metropolis Report-
Yesterday, on Wednesday, another police superintendent was forced into retirement.
Aminul Islam Khan, senior secretary of the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry, issued a circular stating that Nazmul Karim Khan, a special superintendent of the Criminal Investigation Department, had been sent into retirement for the public interest.
The circular referred to Bangladesh Service Rules-2018 Section 45. The directive went into effect right away. The section states that the government may, without providing a justification, retire an employee with 25 years of service after receiving the president’s assent.
At least seven police officers, including two more deputy inspector generals, have already been retired at the hands of the ministry. Mokbul Hossain, the government’s secretary for information and broadcasting, was also placed in retirement on October 16 for the identical reasons.
