Interpol granted Bangladesh police’s plea to issue a red alert against Rabiul Islam, aka Arav Khan, the owner of Arav Jewellery in Dubai, as a wanted felon.
According to Inspector General of Police Abdullah Al Mamun, the police have also been looking into the relationship between one of their former senior officials and the accused.
He said this in response to a reporter’s question following the opening of the Enayet Bazar Police Outpost under the Chattogram Metropolitan Police’s Kotwali Police Station.
“A letter was submitted to Interpol asking it to place a red notice on the name included on the charge sheet in a case brought up for the murder of a Bangladesh police official. Interpol accepted it, I just learned. The remaining work will now be completed by them.”
The IGP stated the following on the suspected partnership between a former police official and Arav: “We are investigating it. We’ll inform you when it’s appropriate.”
