Argentina reached the World Cup final by dismantling Croatia 3-0. Messi scored the team’s first goal from the penalty, and Julian Alvarez scored the remaining two goals.
Although they were slightly behind in the first 30 minutes, Argentina changed the game in the last 15 minutes of the first half. Messi, along with his team, went ahead with a pair of goals, whereas Croatia could not come back anymore.
Messi played the best football semi-final of the World Cup this time. Argentina kept their record intact in the World Cup. They played in six semi-finals and won all six as well.
Croatia, like other teams, kept Messi in zonal marking. As soon as he caught the ball, three to four players were running towards him. But even after that, they could not hold Messi for long.
As time went on, Messi got out of Croatia’s marking zone, created goal opportunities, and even helped the defence. He showed he was ready to do everything to make his last World Cup remarkable.
