On Sunday in Chinese Taipei, the Asia Cup World Ranking Archery competition, Hakim Ahmed Rubel and Diya Siddiqui of Bangladesh won the gold medal.
In the recurve mixed team event final, the Kazakh duo of Ilfat Abdullin and Alina Ilyassova were defeated by the Bangladeshi team with a score of 5-3 sets.
After dropping the opening set 38-36, Hakim and Rubel fought back. The final set was drawn 39-39 after they won the first two sets by scores of 36-35 and 37-33.
Diya eventually went on to lose by 6-4 set points to Malaysian competitor Mashaiykh Syaqiera in the bronze-medal round of the individual recurve competition. Hakim defeated Kazakhstan’s Ilfat Abdullin by a score of 6-4 sets to claim the bronze medal in the individual competition.
