With the Public Service (Amendment) Bill, 2023, financial expenditures by autonomous, legislative, and municipal governmental organizations will have to be approved by the Finance Division.
It is unclear how the Finance Division is involved with autonomous, legislative, and local government bodies even though it has jurisdiction over government entities, representatives, and staff.
The Finance Division must be consulted for all financial matters by public universities, the Election Commission, and regional organizations including municipal corporations and union parishads.
Government personnel working for statutory bodies, state-run businesses, and local government offices will be covered by the proposed law.
