Babar Ali: Another Bangladeshi Achieves Everest Success

Metropolis Desk-

The world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, was successfully ascended by Babar Ali this morning at 8:30 a.m. local time (8:45 a.m. Bangladesh time). In the previous eleven years, he is the first Bangladeshi to accomplish this achievement.

In the Himalayas, Babar, a physician by trade, has climbed eleven of the world’s highest summits regularly since 2014.

He set off on his expedition on April 1 and arrived at the Everest base camp on April 10, according to a press statement from his organization, Vertical Dreamers.

On April 26, Babar hiked up to Everest Camp II to get a feel for the harsh weather. He then returned to the base to wait for the proper weather to start the actual expedition.

On May 14, he eventually set out to reach the summit, arriving at Camp II later that day, Camp III yesterday, and Camp IV early today.

Babar became the most recent Bangladeshi to reach the summit of Everest as he made the final ascent through the early light to the peak, also known as the Death Zone.

Babar has shifted his attention and is now trying to make history by traveling in the direction of Mount Lhotse, the world’s fourth-highest peak. If he were to achieve this goal, he would be the first person from Bangladesh to summit this mountain.

Prior to him, Mount Everest was successfully ascended by Musa Ibrahim (2010), MA Muhit (2011), Nishat Majumder (2012), and Wasfia Nazreen (2012). Not to be forgotten, Mohammed Khaled Hossain also ascended to the top of Mount Everest in 2013, but he died descending.
