Over 5,000 small and micro companies will receive a grant of roughly Tk 1 crore from the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) to help them recover from the fire that destroyed the Bangabazar market in Dhaka last Tuesday.
The declaration was made on Sunday during a visit to the market, according to a news release from the top trade organization, FBCCI President Md. Jasim Uddin. Also, he urged all businesspeople to offer their assistance.
Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) urged the Bangladesh Bank to issue instructions and rules for commercial banks and non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs) to provide funding for the speedy rehabilitation of Bangabazar fire victims.
