Emiliano Martinez, the world cup-winning Argentine goalie, made his first trip to Bangladesh, which ultimately enraged the netizens due to the unexpected denial of Jamal Bhuiyan’s request to see the World Cup winner at the airport on Monday.
Martinez was departing for Kolkata as soon as Jamal arrived in Dhaka from their SAFF Championship campaign in Bengaluru, India, where Bangladesh reached the semi-finals after a 14-year absence, and the two got the chance to meet at the airport.
The visit organizers and Jamal were waiting at the exact location where Martinez’s car dropped him off. Jamal was accompanied by a team representative.
Shortly after, a video of Martinez proceeding with the others disappointed Jamal, and it quickly went viral on social media.
