Desk Report –
Zimbabwe played another heart-stopping match, even better than the last game against Pakistan. In the battle between India and Pakistan, more actions occurred in the previous over than in some games.
Zimbabwe needed 16 runs in the final over, and Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan gave the ball to Mosaddek Hossain. He contributed by taking two wickets and helping the Tigers beat Zimbabwe in Brisbane by a narrow margin of three runs.
When Muzarabani appeared to be out with 5 needed off 1, the players shook hands and retired to their dugouts. However, the third umpire later noticed that Nurul had gathered the ball in front of the stumps, which meant it was a no-ball. The players were brought back to play the final ball, Muzarabani’s free hit and opportunity to swing. To put an end to the situation once and for all, Mosaddek Hossain maintained his composure and fired a dot.
When Evans holed out, and 15 runs were needed off of 4, the game appeared to be over, but Ngarava hit 10 out of the following two shots to save it. But when he left, the real drama began.
Before Shanto’s 71-run inning handed the Tigers a modest total of 150/7 in the opening innings, Taskin and Mustafiz handled the ball with most of the responsibility.
Taskin’s impressive 3-wicket haul earned him the title of player of the game.
