The largest ship transporting fuel oil in Bangladesh’s history, the Panamanian flag ship MT Hore, has started a trial operation of oil release through a pipeline.
The oil will be transported to the Eastern Refinery via a 116 km long pipeline, saving the nation several lakhs of dollars in foreign exchange.
The project, implemented at a cost of roughly Tk 7.5 billion, intends to cut down on oil extraction costs and losses while also speeding up the process of getting oil from the Middle East to the Eastern Refinery.
The project, which had an estimated cost of 7.5 thousand crores, will cut the time and expense of oil extraction from 12 to 13 days to just 2.
It is anticipated that the project’s sophisticated and intelligent technology will begin supplying oil to the pipeline in 30 hours.
The project is anticipated to improve oil transportation and management, boost Bangladesh’s energy security, and advance several fields, including the environment.
The initiative is set to receive its official debut next month from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
